Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

It’s a big day here on Maison de Cinq because today marks the one year anniversary of Friday Favorites!

The best part about this series is how it’s increased our community here – I love that you all love reading it as much as I love creating it!

So, in honor of the anniversary and to thank all of you for the support, I’m hosting a giveaway of $100 gift card! The winner can choose a gift card to Pottery Barn, Wayfair, Nordstrom, or J. Crew (I chose these because they are your four favorite stores!)

In order to enter, first make sure you’re subscribed (if you’re not already you can do so here). Then leave a comment below (don’t forget to include your email or I can’t contact you!) You have until next Thursday, July 21st at 11:59p PST to enter. I’ll pick a random winner and announce it in next week’s Friday Favorites!

And I’m extra excited about today’s Friday Favorites because it’s going to be all about French favorites – in both home and fashion!!

THIS POST MAY INCLUDE AFFILIATE LINKS. CLICK HERE FOR MY FULL DISCLOSURE POLICY.

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

Sharing one of my favorite French-influenced homes by one of my favorite designers, Brooke Giannetti.

A few of my favorite French-inspired items for the home: these terracotta jars remind me of French confit pots (and are priced so well!), I just ordered this basket which is a great price for the size (plus, wouldn’t it make a great planter?), and I love the idea of a French greeting on the porch with this cute doormat or this one which comes in several sizes. And I’ve been looking for different French chairs for the living room and love this one but this one is super similar for a great price!

For the table/kitchen: I love the chic feel of French wine glasses and these are on major sale! And are you familiar with the store EtúHome? They sell lots of French-inspired decor and tabletop items. Some of my favorites are this adorable linen bread basket,  these French mason jar vases are the best, and for summer it doesn’t get much more chic-French-picnic than this pitcher and glasses.

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

A few things that capture the French essence: Love this simple pull-on satin skirt (over 30% off and could be dressed up or down so easily) or this pretty linen version. This drapey silk top is so stylish, this long sleeve blouse (on sale) has classic style, and I love the easy-breezy feel of this linen top (30% off).

And of course, stripes are always a French favorite! This sweater oozes chic summer style (and it’s 40% off today!) and this version is cute (and priced so well!) And is there anything more quintessentially French than espadrilles? I love my wedges and my fave flat ones are on sale!

Makeup and jewelry are always understated: this dainty layering necklace is perfect for understated elegance, this lip tint gives a subtle pop of color, and if you’re a fragrance person and are in the mood for a splurge, this eau de toilette smells amazing and this popular Chanel fragrance evokes the French riviera.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

A new movie called Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris has just been released today and I’m dying to see what it’s all about!

A few more good ‘take place in France’ movies in case you haven’t seen them: Midnight in Paris (a delicious and very non-typical Woody Allen starring Owen Wilson), Paris Can Wait (amazing scenery, and food, and wine), and A Good Year (this time gorgeous scenery in Provence).

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

Why not make a French-inspired dinner? Steak is a classic bistro dinner and this Grilled Steak with Garlic Chive Butter makes it a little simpler and it looks amazing! An apple tart is a classically French dessert and this one is pretty and super easy.

And have you ever tried a French 75 cocktail? I’m intrigued (how good would this look in my new French wine glasses?) 😉
