Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Hi friends! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful week! It’s been a bit rough over here with some health scares and an ER trip (never fun), but everyone’s fine and I’m hoping that things have settled down now.

But the good news is it is the best day of the week and I’ve got lots of fun things to share. I love connecting with all of you here and sharing my favorites  – I look forward to it every week!

I’m such a fan of brick – love the way they used it in this pretty kitchen! See the rest here.

You guys know what a fan I am of adding artwork to a home, and I’ve shared tips for decorating with art as well as ways to style it in a kitchen. So when I found this new source of inexpensive artwork, I knew I had to share it!

Awhile back I shared some inexpensive art on Etsy, but you usually have to frame them yourself. Well, now I found some on Amazon and they are printed on canvas and already framed! This landscape is stunning and huge, as is this one, and I love this moody sky with dramatic clouds. Plus, each of these sellers has dozens more to choose from!

This console table has great farmhouse style, is made from solid wood, and gets great reviews (I have it in my living room). They used to make a coffee table too, but then it was discontinued – but now it’s back!!! And they’ve also added the console table in a slightly smaller version, too. Another World Market favorite is this well-reviewed upholstered chair that’s a steal!

And this might be the best find of the week! Love this rustic vase (on sale – and it’s stunning in person!) and these reclaimed wood vessels are a great price (less than most on Etsy!)

I’ve been looking for a new lightweight fall jacket that can go anywhere and stumbled on this version from J.Crew. I love the color and the quilted look is so in – it would look so good with these cropped jeans! I also love the idea of this coated field jacket – so stylish and looks more expensive than it is. This sweater blazer is also a great early fall option that would work all through the season.

A few more fun finds I’m loving: this gorgeous turtleneck (45% off) (very up my alley!), this cute bucket bag (love the pecan color), and I’m obsessed with the idea of short-sleeved sweaters as a way to bridge summer/fall, like this cashmere polo sweater.

If you’ve been here awhile, then you know I’m a huge fan of British shows! The Crown and Downton Abbey started me off, but I’ve since branched out. We’ve watched and loved Broadchurch, Killing Eve, The Bodyguard, and we just finished A Very English Scandal.

It’s about to be apple season – one of my favorite things about fall! One of our family favorites are these Pork Chops with Maple Apples, this Apple Crisp is yummy, we love this Chopped Apple Salad with Walnuts & Blue Cheese, and this Homemade Apple Sauce is delicious and so easy!

How cute are these DIY marble shelves?! Love!

  1. Some great fall finds! Thank you for the artwork lead. Have you by chance ordered any and seen them in person? I always seem to struggle to find reasonable and pretty art pieces. Super cool vases from Arhaus. I’ve always enjoyed items I have purchased from them I’ve got a long lumber pillow coming soon, and I LOVE their linen sheets. They are so well made. How did I miss these vases on sale! Those DIY marble shelves are amazing too! I’m glad you all are OK. Health scares are no fun. Have a calmer weekend, Sheila!

    1. Hi JC,

I haven’t ordered the artwork yet, but it’s Amazon so very easy to return!! And I’m so glad you love Arhaus! People always forget them I think because they’re so pricey, but some things (like their throw pillows) are actually very reasonable! And on sale, even better!

Thanks for the kind words! 🙂

  2. LOL. It seems like everyone I know is watching British TV. If you get a chance, watch Line of Duty. It is fantastic. The writers are brilliant. We loved Broadchurch, and Grantchester, as well as All Creatures Big and Small. Really enjoy your Friday Favorites. Thanks so much for sharing.

    1. Ooh thanks Jeannine! Love getting new recommends and we need a new show!

  3. Sheila, Oh, I love that J Crew jacket, it’s my color and has my New England vibe too! I was so disappointed with how Killing Eve ended…loved the first couple of seasons though! I have Broadchurch on my list for this winter. Have a great weekend!

    1. I actually only watched the first 3 seasons of Killing Eve so I never saw the ending! I guess that’s good then?! Broadchurch I loved the 1st season but only liked the second – hope you enjoy it!

And glad you loved the jacket, too! 🙂

  4. Mary Besch says:

Glad everything is ok! Thank you for your faithful posts. I always look forward to them!

    1. Thanks so much Mary – I so appreciate that!

      Happy weekend!
