Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

It’s the beginning of a three day weekend – is there anything better?! We don’t have any big plans, but I am doing some shopping for planters for our back patio and I’m also meeting an old friend that I haven’t seen in over a decade!

And of course, there are those President’s Day sales so I’m sure I’ll be doing some couch-scrolling, too. I’ve found lots of deals and cute finds to share with you today!

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

This stunning home is full of amazing antiques. Take the full tour here.

Today I’m sharing lots of sale finds, many that I have or have always loved! At Pottery Barn this rustic olive jar looks just like a Turkish antique and it’s on sale! (click XL olive jar), and I adore this charming basket that’s now 50% off!

Studio McGee has 25% off everything. Love these fabulous basket planters (they’re one of the few that are lined and can be used outdoors), of course my favorite doormat is also 25% off, and I just bought this set of woven trivets (love how unique they are and the European feel).

Ballard Designs also has lots of sale items. How cute is this door basket or this one (both 20% off) for spring? And if like me you’re in the market to improve your laundry area, these drying racks could not be cuter (I first saw them in Brooke Giannetti’s home) and they’re also on sale – yay! And if you’re in the market for a desk, this one has pretty Swedish style and is a steal at 30% off, and this Bergere chair is great quality and also on sale.

And Wayfair has so much on sale I seriously would never be able to share it all! But this pendant lantern is a truly amazing find (and a fraction of the price of the designer version!), another chair I’ve always loved is this stunning French one and it gets great reviews.

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

I just ordered these mid-heel slingbacks and I’m in love! So chic, go with everything, and come in lots of colors. It seems slingbacks are back, like these cute flats (40% off) (the dots!!), and these adorable denim slingback pumps (25% off)! I had a pair of denim shoes years ago and I wore them and wore them – it turned out to be such a versatile color!

J.Crew has 40% off almost everything this weekend!  This simple short-sleeve blouse is perfect for spring (love the green), as is this sweet knit top (love that it’s an upgrade from a plain tee). These cropped jeans are a fave and the white is perfect for spring, And I’m so in love with this cropped sweater blazer (so versatile!)

And did you know pearls are having a huge resurgence? I’m not one to don a simple double strand with a sweater set, but I love them mixed with other jewelry and slightly edgier pieces (like above!) I plucked up this cute double strand freshwater pearl necklace (45% off), or if you prefer this single strand necklace and this bracelet are also 40% off. And don’t forget to break out that pearl necklace you inherited that you never wear!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

Oh my gosh, I can’t remember when I’ve been more into a new show!! We started Bad Sisters last weekend and I’m hooked. It’s soo good – kind of like a darker/funnier/Irish version of Big Little Lies. We blew through it!!

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

Since it’s still not spring weather here, I’m dying to try some new soup recipes. This Lighter Creamy Broccoli Soup looks so good as does this Quick Chicken Noodle Soup (above).

Or these cozy (and easy) Quick Chicken Pot Pies!

5 Simple Exercises that Improve your Posture

Here’s Why You Should Have More Fun (this really resonated with me).

And most importantly, if you’re looking to help Turkey & Syria, this article lists several reputable charities to give to. I donated to Doctors Without Borders and Save the Children but wherever you give, make sure that the money is going where they say it is.

  1. Thank you for the link to posture exercises. Most of the ones I get on my news feed are for young, fit people and I’m not able to do them. These I can manage. Love your blog!

  2. Thank you, Sheila, for all this beautiful inspiration. We are building a home in another state near my daughter, husband, and soon to be born granddaughter🥰, and I will be picking out most everything in a few weeks! A daunting task, but you just made it a lot easier! I especially love the house by Alex Interiors. Thank you!!

    1. Oh wow JC that is so exciting!! Daunting I’m sure but also fun! Wishing you all the best – and glad I can be of some help!

  3. I’m not sure how many wealthy subscribers you have but based on the items you suggest in this blog there must be quite a few. $128 for a pair of jeans? Really? There’s absolutely nothing in this blog that any average person can afford. I guess I’m just not one of your preferred subscribers.

    1. Hi Laurie I’m so sorry that you felt you couldn’t find anything affordable this week. I always try to mix more high end priced items with bargains, which is why I frequently share Target and Walmart finds alongside the other more expensive items. This week those jeans are 40% off – actually every item I shared this week is on major sale! Hopefully you’ll find things in future posts that you love!

      Thanks for stopping by!
