Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

It’s such a weird time of year isn’t it? We’re dreaming of spring, yet some of us are still in the throes of winter. I don’t know about where you are, but our weather has been so crazy this year! Everything from “the storm of the century” (including hail and snow – in Southern Cal!) to daytime temps in the 40s!

So this week on Friday Favorites we’re going to talk ‘in between’ seasons! Things that will help you get through this last month before spring really settles in. (Fingers crossed!)

Before we get started, did you know you can shop all of my posts, both blog and Instagram, in one place? Simply download the free Like to Know It app (click here for Apple or here for Google phones). It’s easy to do and then you can find everything all in one place! Plus, I share things there that I don’t share here on the blog! Once you download the app, look for me, @maisondecinq, and follow me there! 🙂

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

Love this great kitchen remodel – wait until you see the before!

Green is such a perfect shade for this time of year! These gorgeous throw pillows here and here would add a nice bit of color to a space, or add these linen tea towels to the kitchen.

Another great idea for getting through the last of the season before spring comes? Faux flowers and branches. I adore this little lemon tree (sold out last year!) and these lemon branches would look great in a pretty vase. This greenery branch is my personal favorite and looks so real!

And I’m sharing a few fabulous Amazon finds! These sconces have great reviews and are under $100! (thinking of getting them for my powder room), I just ordered this classic zinc planter (amazing price – plus I saw it on Instagram and it looks so good!), and this wood bench would be beautiful on a porch or patio.

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

You know those cropped tweed Chanel-ish style jackets? They are back in a big way and I’m loving it! They’re so chic and easily dressed up or down. Plus they’re perfect for the spring!

This black one is perfection (and comes in 3 other colors), and I also like this black sweater version and this plaid black one (half off). And how pretty is this blue version or this blazer version in pink? And for something really unique, I adore this denim version

Channeling the look above – I love them with cropped kicky jeans like these or these and a cute blocky heel!

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

Have you read anything by the author Taylor Jenkins Reid? She wrote The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo which I loved so when I heard another of her books was becoming a show, I knew I had to read it before it came out. Daisy Jones and the Six is based on a fictional rock band from the 1960s-1970s loosely based on Fleetwood Mac (who I also love!) It came out today – excited to see if it’s as good as the book!

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

As you know I’m a huge Ina Garten fan, and her Lasagna with Turkey Sausage is one of our absolute favorites (it has a twist that makes it so good!)

But I’m anxious to lighten things up. I’d love to try this Roasted Vegetable Lasagna or this Portobello Mushroom Lasagna

Hello! I always look forward to reading your blog on Friday 🙂 Just wanted to let you know that I purchased the scones you found on Amazon. They are beautiful! Mine are not hardware, we hung them over a stairwell beside a picture, but we are truly happy with the quality & look of them.

    Happy Friday Sheila!

    1. Oh I’m so happy to hear that – thanks Paula! I’ve ordered them for the powder room!

Thanks for stopping by and for the sweet compliment!:)
