Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend full of fun and relaxation – the best kind!

On that note, today’s post is all about the best! I’m sharing lots of  ‘favorites’ today – my tried and true things that I love and/or buy again and again. Hope you enjoy!

I just adore this pretty French country home with lots of blue and white!

Of course my favorites in summer home decor involve rattan, linens, and anything blue and white!

These linen pillows are a staple – I own them in several colors. They mix well with other patterns like stripes or florals, and I love the texture they add.

My favorite aged looking terracotta pots are these (on sale!). I use them both inside and out. And I can’t say enough about these planters – they are great quality and look like concrete.

I love hurricanes for use on summer tables – these are a definite favorite, and this seagrass wrapped vase is so cute!

When summer comes, I love to change out our bedding. I switch out our flannel sheets for our favorite bamboo sheets. We love these – they’re even silkier and cooler feeling than cotton!

I’m a candle lover and it’s something I love changing with the seasons. The candles by Jenny Kayne are a new discovery. They are pricey, but seriously amazing! All of the scents are yummy but right now I’m loving the Basil. My other very favorite brand Linnea Lights has a Sea Salt scent that is to die for – could not love it more!

For summer there’s nothing like blue and white! For lots of color, add this ginger jar or these beautiful blue glass vases. And this sea glass garland is stunning and looks great on a coffee or console table!

Love this charming rattan tray,  – perfect for summer (and it looks like the Serena & Lily version for a fraction of the price!)

A lot of you have asked me to share some of my favorite basics, so today I thought I’d talk summer basics!

For a basic straight jean, the AG Mari straight jean (above) is my present favorite. It’s not too straight and not too skinny. I have them in a medium wash, as well as white which for me is a summer staple. For a cropped jean, I love this Mother cropped one! It’s edgy and fun and I always get compliments when I wear them. And of course, I’m crazy about these wide-legged jeans. They are super soft and light enough to wear all year.

Blazers are also something I wear all year. They are always chic and make even a tee and jeans feel more polished, plus they’re perfect for date night or for throwing over a dress. For summer, I love this linen blazer, similar option here (30% off).

My favorite tees are by ATM. They’re pricey, so I only buy them in white (which I wear the most). For everything else, the J.Crew vintage tee is a close second and something I have in multiple colors.

When it comes to shorts, I don’t like to wear them too short so I usually go with this classic 7″ version (35% off now!) or sometimes the 5″ length (25% off). I have both in multiple colors, they’re very flattering, and they’re priced well, too.

I’ve shared how much I love a striped tee, and this one has all the French girl vibes without the exorbitant price.

My favorite hat is this packable straw hat (35% off right now) and my French market bag I use all summer is essential!

I have this high heel in several colors – it’s a simple, classic style and I find a 3″ heel is flattering but still comfortable to wear. I’ve danced for hours in these with no pain! The pale gold is especially versatile and pretty for summer.

Should we talk podcasts? Though I listen to them almost everyday during my walk, I haven’t shared any in quite a long time! I’m excited to see that Julia Louis-Dreyfus has a new one called Wiser Than Me. Looking forward to trying it!

A few other favorites from the last few months were Chameleon: Hollywood Con Queen, Missing Richard Simmons, The Shrink Next Door, and Welcome to Your Fantasy.

Even though it’s just June, I’m already dreaming of home made ice cream! This No Churn Fudge Brownie Coffee Ice Cream (above) looks amazing (and easy!), this Espresso Ice Cream is a family favorite, and I’m dying to try my friend Ann’s Homemade Lemon Ice Cream.

A gorgeous walled garden in the heart of London.

  1. Nan, Odessa, DE says:

    Great post!
Where, oh where can I purchase the large basket or similar basket at the end of thebtable?

    1. Hi Nan and thank you! I have no idea as that isn’t my kitchen. It looks like a French antique to me so I would try searching on Etsy for antique and vintage French baskets.

      Hope that helps!
