Friday Favorites – Weekly Inspiration

Welcome to Friday Favorites, a series where we share our favorite decor, design inspiration, fashion finds, TV shows, recipes and more!

How is everyone this week? If you follow me on Instagram then you may already know that I’m a little laid up at the moment. After my flurry of travel I came home to scheduled foot surgery this week. And though I knew it was coming and it was fairly minor, I wasn’t expecting my doctor to be so strict!

He wants me not doing much of anything for 5 days, then another week before I can run errands/feel fairly normal, and another four weeks before he wants me exercising! For someone who is pretty active and very type-A, that’s a tall order! 🙁

However, I’m looking at the bright side and hoping to catch up on lots of back end work I need to do on the blog that I always seem to put off, and of course, there’s always online shopping, haha! 😉

And now let’s get on with this week’s Friday Favorites which is full of lots of summery inspiration!

THINGS I LOVE IN DESIGN/DECOR

I first discovered The Fox Group on Instagram and this gorgeous kitchen remains one of my favorite spaces of theirs! See the rest of this amazing home here.

Have you guys seen the new collection from the designer RHODE for West Elm? So many beautiful and colorful finds for summer! I absolutely adore this gorgeous reversible table runner, this pretty basket is made for serving but would also look fabulous sitting on a kitchen counter, I love these cute salad plates and the coordinated dinner plates, and these printed placemats are really speaking to me!

I’ve shared some of the My Texas Home collection before but I wanted to show you some new-to-me finds! This neutral pillow gives off Serena & Lily vibes as does this tassled option, totally crushing on this plaid rug (couldn’t be cuter and comes in 4 colors plus larger sizes!!), and this tufted bed gets amazing reviews (considering it for the new guest room) as does this upholstered headboard.

And if you’re still in the market for outdoor furniture, I just found two adorable conversation sets that are priced so well! This one is super chic and under $300, and this one is a perfect dupe for the Serena & Lily one at a fraction of the price!

Last week’s best sellers: this cute rattan caddy and these hand-painted planters

THINGS I’M WEARING/LOVING/WANTING

I spent about 3 months looking for a graduation dress to wear to my son’s graduation last week, only to have it end up being rainy and cold so I was in pants and a blazer, haha! However, there are so many pretty dresses out right now so I thought I’d share some of my favorites for those of you going to an event not in the rain!

This white halter dress (above) was the first one I bought and even though I didn’t end up wearing it, I’m keeping it because I love it so much! For those of you who crave color this linen wrap dress is lovely and flattering, this black linen dress is absolutely adorable and now 75% off (also keeping since I love it!). And if you’re looking for pretty florals (perfect for summer weddings or showers) I found this H&M dress that’s a steal and very flattering, this one is lovely, and the wrap style of this one is always classic.

You know I’m a straw bag lover so whenever I find one I love, I have to share! This picnic style tote is perfect for beach trips and concerts in the park (and would also make a great gift), this wine-themed version is so cute and priced right (I couldn’t resist!), and this pretty tote is utterly charming!

And a couple of random bargains – this double-breasted blazer looks way more expensive than it is, as does this linen blend blazer that’s a dupe for the very pricey Cinq à Sept version (I just ordered the black), and this dress is soo chic – hard to believe it’s under $40!

Last week’s best sellers: this pretty linen blouse and these pearl earrings.

THINGS I’M WATCHING/READING/LISTENING TO

Okay, it’s my turn to ask all of you what you’re watching! I feel like I’ve seen all the good shows, so I’m looking for recommendations. A few that people shared with me on Instagram that I haven’t seen are The Bear, Beef, A Small Light, Shrinking (in photo above), and The Tourist. Of these, I’m most excited for A Small Light.

Have you seen any of these? Or others you love? Please share!

THINGS I’M MAKING/EATING/DRINKING

Summer is cocktail season! We drink wine all year, but for some reason, I rarely have cocktails during the winter. And there are a few favorites we always turn to – the first being my absolute fave Basil Vodka Gimlet. For me, it signifies summer. And I’m telling you – it’s dangerously good!!

Another family fave is the Pimm’s Cup. Have you ever had one? It’s perfect for summer because it’s refreshing and low in alcohol. I’m thinking I should share a recipe here on Maison de Cinq!

And if you love cocktails like we do, check out How to Make Great Cocktails at Home.
