Seasonal Crush – Mad for Plaid

Plaid. It’s a fabric that is universally liked. You would never say it’s controversial, or that people “either love it or hate it.” That’s saved for things like neon colors or zebra print.

It’s actually the opposite. Most people like it, and wear it, but don’t give it much thought beyond that. And though I’m typical that way, I own a few shirts and a scarf or two, at Christmas-time, I absolutely adore it!

There is something about a red plaid, whether it be in clothing or decor, that just screams Christmas to me. And though I did a very “neutral” Christmas in my own decor this year, it still has a special place in my heart this time of year.

So cheers! Here’s to the holidays, drinking egg nog, dressing up for parties, twinkly lights, packages tied up with string, and plaid!☺

Possibly the cutest porch scene ever! Perfection. Via Craftberry Bush.

Love the pop this plaid gives to this otherwise very neutral room. And how cute are those window shades?

This is a tablescape I did recently using my new plates from Home Goods. The whole tablescape (with sources) can be seen here.

Again, just a touch of plaid in a neutral room can be very sophisticated.

  2. Thanks so much Shelley! I'm the opposite – I actually need/want more plaid scarves! I did buy the CUTEST plaid flats from J. Crew though and I cannot wait to wear them!
