Today I’m talking about a color that I’ve had a love/hate relationship with for a long time. As many of you know, I had red as an accent color in my family room and kitchen for many years (I only recently got rid of it and talked about changing to blue). But I no longer gravitate to it at all in interiors, at least for now. I think I just had it for too long – it was in my house in one form or another for about 15 years!
However, when it comes to my wardrobe, I feel differently. Though I don’t love it in decor, I actually adore it in fashion! I’ve seen red dresses on the runway that are downright stunning. And what is cuter than an amazing red shoe?! So, with Valentine’s Day coming up soon, I thought I would pay tribute to the beauty of it in fashion. After all, red is the color of passion. I rarely fall in love with major amounts in an outfit (except for that aforementioned drop-dead dress!), but I do love it in small doses. It’s a dramatic color, so a little goes a long way. A touch of red in a shoe, a bag, or a coat can add such an impact! And it sure can brighten up a winter day!
I’m literally in love with this outfit! The bag and shoes are so cute with the white peacoat (love this coat!!)
Love that she mixed the red with army green. An unexpected but oh-so-good combination!
See what I mean? It’s a simple flat but the color adds such panache to an otherwise ordinary outfit!
Need I say more?!
One of my favorite outfits ever! Olivia Palermo managed to make ripped jeans and a simple white blouse look amazing simply by topping it off with this stunning shoe!
Love these flats so much!
I never wanted a red blazer until I saw this photo last year. Then I was on the hunt! It adds such great punch to jeans.
Amazing! The spice color looks so good with a pop of red!
And yes, I had to add my favorite shoe! (Couldn’t help myself!)
