Green with Envy

I know green has not been the hottest color in the decor world as of late, but I’ve noticed it is slowly having a re-awakening. And I have to say, I for one am thrilled! I don’t know if it is because I love the outdoors and plants so much, or if it’s for some other reason, but a little green in a room really speaks to me.

Only touches here and there in this living room, but it works magic against the creams.

Just a few grey/green cabinets, but they make all the difference in this beautiful kitchen.

One of my all-time favorite rooms. The antique green mirror is gorgeous!

Again, pops of greyish greens – love!

Here Loi Thai’s beautiful living room with touches of green against all the cream.

Green in decorating has been the ignored step-child for awhile now. I remember about 15 years ago when the Martha Stewart show was big, I used “Martha Green” (this was an actual color!) in all kinds of ways. I had a green-walled family room, green accents in my kitchen, and green in our master bath. Then it fell out of fashion. And in the last few years, blue has become the darling of decor (see my post about falling in love with blue here). However, I have to say that green has never been far from my mind. I do still have green in my master bedroom and bath, and a little in my living room. In my pursuit of blue for my new family room (which hopefully I will reveal in a few months!), I realized that I still love it and I don’t want to get rid of it completely. I love it in any area of the house, but it works especially well in bedrooms.

And it’s lovely in a dining room….

I’ve always loved this breakfast room.

I love the green and blue together in this room!

And how cute is a green front door?! I don’t have that now (mine is black) but I’m open to it!!

I’ve also noticed a bit of a change in the shelter magazines of late, and I’m hoping that means we’ll see more of it!

Thanks so much for visiting Keri! Love your blog too! And you definitely have a green thumb! (Maybe that's why I like green in decor? Because I'm not that great at growing things but I LOVE gardens!)

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi Sheila,

So nice of you to drop me a note! Thank you! Lovely to discover your blog. I love green. How can I not– I have a green thumb after all.. (at least some of the time!) Green is so relaxing, so easy on the eyes. I love it. Happy blogging!

Such pretty photos and I love the touches of green with the cream. That one with the Christmas tree is perfection!
