Decorating with Green: A Classic Look
I know green has not been the hottest color in the decor world as of late, but I’ve noticed that decorating with green is slowly having a re-awakening. And I have to say, I for one am thrilled!
I don’t know if it is because I love the outdoors and plants so much, or if it’s for some other reason, but a little green in a room really speaks to me.

Only touches here and there in this living room, but it works magic against the creams. |

Just a few grey/green cabinets, but they make all the difference in this beautiful kitchen. |

Decorating with green has been the ignored step-child for awhile now. I remember about 15 years ago when the Martha Stewart show was big, I used “Martha Green” (this was an actual color!) in all kinds of ways. It was a gorgeous sage green color. I had it on the family room walls, as well as green accents in my kitchen, and green on the walls of our primary bathroom. Then it fell out of fashion.
And in the last few years, blue has become the darling of decor (see my post about falling in love with blue here). However, I have to say that green has never been far from my mind. I do still have green in my primary bedroom and bath, and a little in my living room.
In my pursuit of blue for my new family room (which hopefully I will reveal in a few months!), I realized that I still love it and I don’t want to get rid of it completely. I love it in any area of the house, but it works especially well in bedrooms.
Not only that, green and blue work beautifully together!

And it’s lovely in a dining room….

I love a touch of green in the bath….

I’ve also noticed a bit of a change in the shelter magazines of late, and I’m hoping that means we’ll see more of it!

Thanks so much for visiting Keri! Love your blog too! And you definitely have a green thumb! (Maybe that's why I like green in decor? Because I'm not that great at growing things but I LOVE gardens!)
Have a great weekend!

Such pretty photos and I love the touches of green with the cream. That one with the Christmas tree is perfection!
