I’m so excited to share today’s inspiring home tour with you! This French country farmhouse features an updated yet approachable take on French country design from the moment you step inside.

Featuring a gourmet cook’s kitchen, custom millwork, and wood beams, every corner exudes French country charm. I first discovered Tricia’s beautiful home on Instagram and was immediately smitten!

The home is located in Northern California and was built in 2022. The living room features wood beams, as well as three dramatic French doors that let in tons of natural light.

“We moved because my husband wanted to live on land. He found 5 acres, not too far from town, and he was in!  We hadn’t planned on building, at least for 10 years or more, however, we jumped right in. We started a plan to build our dream home, despite having no knowledge or prior experience in building.”

The stone fireplace gives off a European vibe, and I love the builtins on either side.

Tricia said they started designing their home in October of 2019, and grading began in December of 2020. About 18 months later, they moved into their home with only one bathroom working and no air conditioning (and this was in July!)

The French country dining room has a rustic wood table combined with upholstered chairs. It feels both elevated and inviting at the same time.

“We have 5 acres that we share with our 4 children, 2 cats, 2 dogs & 7 goats!  We love feeling like we aren’t surrounded by anyone, yet all the schools, services, and grocery stores are only about 5 minutes away. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Her kitchen has a large center island flanked by four stools, more wood beams, and a stunning solid marble backsplash behind the range.

The cabinets are a mix of closed and glass doors, with brass hardware.

And she has a butler’s pantry! You know how much I love them, and hers is especially charming!

gorgeous soft sage green laundry room with stunning chandelier and marble counters

Tricia says the laundry room is her favorite space in her home, despite the fact that she doesn’t actually like doing laundry!

“In our last home, we had a tiny, dark laundry room with low ceilings and I never folded laundry in it. I love how light and bright my laundry room is now, and I also love having two washers and and dryers for our family of six. Though I still don’t exactly love doing laundry, I am grateful to have this beautiful space to do it in!”

The mudroom has the same diamond pattern flooring and pretty marble as the adjacent laundry room. Plus, plenty of lockers, hooks, and cubbies for all of the kids to keep their things organized!

European inspired home with arched hallway with runner and chandeliers

The hallway features a stunning vintage Turkish runner (another favorite!), and charming lanterns lighting the way.

In the primary bedroom, Tricia chose a sleigh bed, along with a French bench and lots of neutral pillows to create a pretty and serene space.

They moved into their home with all of the furniture from their previous house, so they are still in the process of buying some new furniture and decor for their home. Tricia describes her decorating style as traditional, but with a European or French country flair.

The primary bedroom also features builtin bookcases for storage, as well as another fireplace.

French country farmhouse bathroom with marble floors and glass chandelier

The primary bathroom is so stunning! Marble herringbone floors, a gorgeous tub, as well as a glass chandelier create a beautiful, spa-like space.

This room is a favorite of mine! I love the French-inspired bed, as well the soothing palette.

And how cute is this little window seat?!

Unlike the rest of the home, this room has sage green vertical shiplap on the walls. This gives the space a slightly more rustic French farmhouse look. And yet another gorgeous French bed!

beautiful courtyard with round table and wicker chairs and diamond pattern floors

The back patio features plenty of seating, as well as planter boxes full of flowers. Tricia says they are currently working on the backyard, and will be adding a fireplace with a seating area.

“And my favorite area to be when the weather is warm is outside in our courtyard having dinner with my family.  We have this lovely porcelain checkerboard tile in light gray and white that is just happy!”

stunning French country farmhouse style home with lots of windows, charming shutters and landscaping

The front of the home has a fountain, as well as charming wood shutters on the windows.

“If I had to pick the thing that I love most about our home, I would have to say the open sky views that we have. We have beautiful views from all sides of our home since we are on a small hill, and that allows us to enjoy our gorgeous sunsets with the oak trees in the background.”

I hope you enjoyed this French country farmhouse tour! You can see more of Tricia’s home on her Instagram page here. And if you’ve missed any of the other gorgeous homes featured in our series, you can see them all here!
