Looking for table setting ideas for the holidays? This simple and natural Christmas table setting uses pomegranates and lots of pine and cedar to create an easy but beautiful tablescape.
Whether you’re setting a table for a winter dinner party, a small holiday gathering, or even Christmas Eve, this simple and natural table is an easy but elegant way to create special memories and let those around you know how much you care.
I love entertaining, especially at the holidays! And I love that by making a little extra effort the night feels that much more special.
Usually when I’m creating a table I start with a special salad plate, and this Christmas table was no exception. When I spotted these Winter Botanical dishes from Walmart I was completely smitten, and I knew I had to do a table with them!
The pattern is a subtle, pretty nod to the season (which I love) and they make the perfect base for a simple and natural Christmas table setting! Emphasizing the classic red and green botanicals on the plates, I created a red and green table to highlight them.
A cute red seasonal pillow adds some color to the table, too. 🙂
A red and green plaid placemat contrasts nicely with the floral artwork on the plates.
The centerpiece consists of pomegranates and lots of pine, cedar, and eucalyptus laid on a linen runner for a natural look. Using produce is one of the prettiest ways to create a tablescape, and it’s so easy! Plus, you can eat it afterwards!
I always love to use candles on a table, especially at the holidays. I love the special glow it brings to the table, and these brass candlesticks are one of my favorites! They are so classic and I love how they contrast with all the rich reds and greens.
The ‘napkin’ is actually a red striped tea towel. I love using tea towels for napkins! They have a great farmhouse style, plus they’re larger than napkins and usually less expensive. 😉
The vintage flatware is tied to the little brass bell with twine. I often use twine as a ‘napkin ring’ because I love the casual feel it imparts. I never like the table to feel too fancy! 😉
The wood charger adds some contrasting color and texture.
How cute are these plates?! The salad plates consist of two that say ‘Merry’ and two that say ‘Believe’, while the dinner plates have the botanical art around the edge.
A sprig of cedar adds some color to the flatware bundle.
All of these adorable items were found at Walmart! They have so many great items for holiday entertaining and hosting.
From tabletop items like dishes, napkins and glasses, to appliances and cooking supplies, Walmart Home carries everything you need to add a special touch to your holiday hosting this season!
Plus, they have free shipping with most orders over $35. And lots of items have 2 and 3-day shipping so it’s easy to get what you need before the holidays!
I’m linking everything I used below, and where things are sold out I’ve sourced similar items so that you can easily get the look, too!
