Something I was recently turned onto is preserved boxwood topiaries. These are not the plastic, fake topiaries that don’t look real, oh no, these are hand made from real boxwood plants and are specially treated to retain their deep green color. They even have a faint hay-like smell that makes them seem more natural than just a plastic topiary. I have only had two fake (plastic) topiaries in my life and I had recently thrown them out, vowing to go only “real” from now on.
Friday Favorites – Chanel Jewelry Love
Vintage jewelry is so beautiful and something I have always loved. And though I have a fair amount of vintage chains, some lockets and old watch fobs, only recently did I discover the beauty of vintage Chanel jewelry, in particular. After seeing some in an antique jewelry store in Santa Barbara a couple of years ago, I have been oohing and aahing over photos of Chanel jewelry on Pinterest ever since! Though I love both the necklaces and the bracelets, it is the bracelets that have really captured my heart!

Friday Favorites – My Favorite Candle by Illume
I have to admit that I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to candles! I buy a lot of them, and not always successfully. Often I like the smell, but when I get it home, it doesn’t seem to really permeate or I can barely tell it’s burning. Or even worse, it’s overpowering enough to cause a headache! And since some of them are quite pricey, it can be frustrating (I’ve thrown quite a few in the trash, I can tell you that!)
