I’m not one to do a lot of decorating for Valentine’s Day, but I do like to do a little something as a nod to the holiday. When the kids were younger, I did much more in terms of decor and gifts. However, this year I wanted to keep it simple while still making it feel festive!
French Country Fridays make me so happy! Not just because I love doing this post with my talented friends, but also because it means that it’s Friday and the weekend is almost here! Is there anything better than that feeling on Friday night when the work week is over and the whole weekend is spread out ahead of you?! Can you tell I’ve had a bit of a crazy week?! Really ready for our pizza and movie night (and maybe a second glass of wine 😉 )
I don’t know about all of you, but my husband and I haven’t dined out on Valentine’s Day in probably fifteen years! That night it is overly crowded, and the food is always expensive. Most years we do a dinner out on another night and a family dinner on Valentine’s Day itself. But this year, it falls on a Thursday which happens to be a night my teens will be out at a weekly function. So I thought, why not do a special dinner at home in our own dining room? Candles, good food, uninterrupted conversation and no crowds or over-priced food – sign me up!
Hi all, and welcome to our weekly dose of French-ish inspo, French Country Fridays! This past week has been a flurry of organizing here (my obsession with “tidying and “marie-kondoing” is continuing, haha!) Last week I did my entire kitchen, and this week is the pantry which has involved re-painting the inside shelves as it had never been done. I always get this purging and cleaning bug in January, how about you? Are you one to organize and start with a “clean slate” for the New Year?
If you follow design trends at all, or peruse Pinterest frequently, I’m sure you’ve seen the trendy patterned tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms. I think I first saw them a couple of years ago, and from that moment on, I was smitten!
Good morning friends, and Happy Best-Day-of-the-Week! We’ve been having tons of rain and some pretty cold weather lately (at least for California!) which is perfect for me this time of year. The minute it’s drizzly I love staying inside and cozying up under a blanket in front of the fire, or even better, continuing my organizing and purging!
