Sweet & Simple French Farmhouse Spring Mantel
As promised, I’m back today with another spring post. If your weather is anything like ours, it feels like spring is still a long ways away ~ but I’m hopeful! I’m of the “If we decorate for it, it will come!” mind, and I’m sticking to it! 😉 We are in the midst of yet another rainstorm so a little spring cheer is definitely in order here!
So today I’m sharing my simple spring mantel! It’s early, so I didn’t want to bring out all the bunnies quite yet, but I did want to add some springtime cheer. So for me, that meant flowers!
A sweet and simple mantel with lots of cheerful flowers to brighten up the house, and hopefully, will spring to come!
A trip to Trader Joe’s yielded one bunch of mixed flowers in pinks, purple, and white. I know I talked about usually featuring just one floral type in my post all about decorating with flowers, which is what I normally do. But this time, I wanted to mix it up a little! And, by buying one simple mixed bunch at the grocery store, it was way less expensive than if I had tried to buy five or six separate bunches.
And I simply gathered up every small and medium sized glass container/vase/jar I could find and started filling them!
Obviously I used fresh flowers here, but you could definitely get the same effect with faux – there are so many good ones now!
I augmented with some white hydrangeas that I already had kicking around, as well as some eucalyptus.
The vessels I used are a mix of bud vases, simple glass jars, and vintage bottles.
I love the simplicity of it. And I love the glass vessels contrast with the texture of the wood mirror. This mirror was such a great find!! Can you believe it’s from Target?!
And you know what else I love? That a total investment of about $10 brought so much joy to this space! I hope this has inspired you to choose some simple spring flowers and use them to brighten up your mantel – or anywhere else that needs some spring cheer!

Sheila, you always do such a great job!! Where did you get the chandelier that’s in this post? Thanks so much, A.
Hi and thank you Andrea – that’s so kind! The chandelier is from Pottery Barn, but unfortunately, it’s discontinued. 🙁

Shiela, I love all the fun vases you’ve collected. They’re perfect for all those beautiful spring flowers. It’s still a bit cold here in Utah, but I am hopeful spring will come early this year and we will be able to enjoy all the pretty blooms shortly!
Thanks so much Tauni~ I’m sure hoping that if I decorate for it, it will come!! Utah should have amazing flowers this year!
