I’m dying to spruce up our porch for spring. Though sadly, I’m behind, and this year’s spring porch refresh has yet to happen. It’s still a bit dusty, with debris and a serious lack of planters!
Since this is a new house, I really want to update it. When we moved in, we painted the door black, just like the previous house, and changed out the porch light for something more my style. But all I’ve done since then is add a new doormat (my favorite ever!) But now I need to decide what planters, and how many, as well as make a trip to the nursery for flowering plants.
In the meantime, I went looking on Pinterest for some inspiration, and thought I’d share some of what I found with you. If you’re looking for ideas for freshening up your spring porch, you’re sure to find lots here – I know I did!

I love all these fresh porches. From what I’ve seen of the outside of your house….which I think is just the front doors so far, that sagey green would be really pretty on your doors. And if you don’t like it you can always repaint!
I’ve got a blank slate when it comes to my porch as we moved in about three months ago. It only has a new doormat at this point. Because my front doors face mostly west I was thinking of planters with faux cedars or boxwood and fill in with real flowers around it and in a smaller planter next to it. Have you mixed faux and real?

I do love sage green, but it would have to be relatively dark as my house color is grey and I’d want it to separate. I love green though and am considering that or a blue. We will see!
I’ve only used faux indoors, never outside so I can’t really comment on that. But I do think if you’re going to try it, the key is having real mixed in (just like inside!)

Love the “large porch cozy seating area” inspiration for the covered area of my patio, under my sunporch. I need a round table like that, large enough and tall enough between my wicker chairs so when hubby and I want a quick lunch or shaded cocktails in the afternoon we have an appropriate sized table. Something that can take a little weather so I don’t have to keep bringing it inside.
Also love that fern!!!
