Spring has Sprung Home Tour

Yesterday I shared with you that I had a special post planned for Friday, and here it is! If you are coming here from another blog, then welcome! For the rest of you, let me fill you in on what you have in store. I am thrilled to have been asked to participate in a Spring Tour with eight other bloggers. After you’ve seen my spring tour, you can find links to all the other participants at the bottom of the post. I hope you will hop over to their blogs as well and take a look! They are all wonderfully talented, and their posts are full of great design ideas for spring….. Enjoy!!

Since spring isn’t quite like Christmas, with access to so many decor items, I tend to keep it pretty simple. I adore white flowers, and I try to have them as a focal point. I especially love the crisp green of the leaves mixed with the bright white flowers.

I’ve also started bringing out some blue and white items for spring. Their colors are so fresh and crisp, and really help to lighten up the space. Here on the counter I gathered several types of white flowers in both new and reproduction ironstone pitchers.

My kitchen hood mantel is one of my favorite places to style. I love to change it up with the seasons. Here I used an antique blue and white transferware platter with white ironstone pitchers.

White tulips, a little nest under a cloche, and a blue and white platter from Sur la Table, similar here and here.

A runner from Home Goods adds a little more blue and white to the room. The dough bowl is a “new” antique and I love styling it!

Another item that I’m in love with for spring is lavender. Simple, bought from the hardware store or Trader Joe’s, lavender. Though I usually only like white flowers, in spring I do love the soft purple flowers and the smell! Here I added it to this adorable planter from Target.

Onto the dining room, where I put my new kalanchoe plant (loving this find!) and some cherry blossoms. I had looked for these before, but could never find live ones. They are so springy and cheerful!

I did get rid of the bunnies once Easter was over, but I decided to leave out all my little nests. I love the earthiness of them, and the way that they represent “re-birth.” I put the nests everywhere; nestled in little bowls, on tables… wherever. And the eggs I still have out as well and use them in various bowls around the house. I think they really still work for spring!

Faux eggs are from World Market and the nests are from Amazon. Vintage silver pedestal dishes.

Eggs from PB again, nest is Home Goods, and the cloche, silver plate, and silver cup are all vintage.
And of course, tulips! I usually have them in almost every room, as long as I can find them.

I enjoyed your home tour, your home is beautiful and course so are your Spring touches. I love all of the fresh flowers… what I like about the lavender is that even it if dies it still looks nice (hehe, great for someone who manages to kill all indoor plants)
