Summer Outdoor Entertaining ~ An Evening by the Fire

As I’ve mentioned before, outdoor entertaining is one of my absolute favorite things about summer! And though we do plenty of grilling and meals outside, we also love to spend time outdoors after the meal is over.

Who doesn’t love sitting under the stars during the summer months? In fact, I would say it’s one of the easiest ways to enjoy the season with family or friends. So today I’m sharing one of our favorite summer outdoor entertaining ideas!

 And as many of you know, we just added our outdoor fire pit last summer when we did the pool remodel and can I say?! It‘s one of the best things we’ve ever done!

We love to sit outside on a warm summer night ~ lingering over some wine or coffee, and maybe some s’mores. It’s relaxing and definitely one of the best things about the season!

Flowers, candles, and good conversation all make for a perfect warm summer evening.

And you don’t need a built in fire pit to create the same kind of evening! Fire pits are available everywhere from Costco, to big home improvement centers, to the local hardware store. They’re reasonably priced, and I think, bring a lot of ambience for the buck! Another way to do s’mores is to do them on the grill, which is what we used to do before we built the fire pit!

And of course, Hudson always has to be right in the center of whatever is going on!

Of course, it’s cool most evenings in the spring and even some in summer, so we always bring out blankets to warm us up.

And though we love s’mores, you can do any dessert outside! Whether it’s cake, pie, or just some coffee and cookies, lingering outdoors makes any evening feel special!

I like to bring out some candles to add to the romantic ambience. I’m also dying to add some string lights but just haven’t gotten around to it yet!
