Hi all, and happy Wednesday! Hope you’re all enjoying your week. I’ve been busy getting my youngest settled back in school, and we spent this past weekend bringing my daughter back to college for her sophomore year. I tell you, it doesn’t get any easier!
Today I’m (finally) sharing my new-to-me antique farmhouse table! It is now in it’s new home in our breakfast room/kitchen dining area and I couldn’t be happier! I received the table a few months back, but I was waiting until I had found chairs to do the final reveal.
I’m a little late in coming around to the animal hide trend. For a long time it didn’t speak to me; I guess I wasn’t entirely comfortable with it. But I must confess, it has slowly grown on me! Decorating with animal hides can not only look luxurious, but it also brings much needed texture to a room (something that is often missing in interiors). I’m especially drawn to a zebra or cheetah print rug layered over another natural fiber rug underneath. So chic!
I don’t know that many people who have a kitchen banquette, but the one friend who does have it, loves it! And can I say how adorable it is?!
They are utterly charming! Kitchen banquettes, along with things like dutch doors and butler’s pantries, are thought of as somewhat old-fashioned. But I’m all for bringing them back. They are practical; a great use of space, look and feel cozy, and work wonderfully with kids and families. Plus, did I mention the charm factor?!
