Hi all, and Happy First Day of Spring! I’m so excited to be sharing my first spring home tour of the season, and I’m joined by eleven of my favorite bloggers who are also sharing their very best spring decorating ideas! If you’re landing here from my friend Lory’s, thanks so much for stopping by. She always has the most beautiful flowers, and I have a feeling this tour will be no exception!
An arrangement I did last spring with white hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus in a vintage ironstone pitcher. And the best thing about them? They work year-round in decorating. Other flowers have a very seasonal association. Peonies in the spring, paper whites in the winter, or gladiolas in the summer. But hydrangeas really are around most of the year, so they look great at any time, for any occasion. They look spring-y and fresh in the spring and summer months (especially the Limelights that have a slightly green tinge), but they also look amazing in the winter. I love them mixed with eucalyptus in fall, or pine and berries at Christmas.
Seriously?! Does it get any lovelier than this? I adore the white hydrangeas against the old wooden box.
It seems like peonies are literally everyone’s favorite flower! I know I’m not original here, but really, is there a prettier bloom out there?! Something about their fluffy beauty just makes my heart skip a beat. And I’m sure the fact that they are here for only a couple of weeks makes them that much sweeter. I wait for 50 weeks for them to appear and then buy them like crazy for 2!
Hi there and Happy Friday! I know some of you have come over from my friend Michael of Inspired by Charm. If so, I’m glad you’ve stopped by! Every month I get together with a group of bloggers to do a monthly blog hop. We’ve focused on all different subjects, from how to style a coffee table, to tablescaping, to some holiday home tours. Well, this month we’ve decided to talk flowers, since April really is the beginning of spring (regardless of what the calendar says)! Flowers are in abundance this time of year, so we thought it would be fun to focus on decorating with flowers. And who doesn’t love doing that?!
I love Spring! Everything about it is so cheerful and full of promise. One of the things that I look forward to the most is planting fresh flowers in the garden, and one of my absolute favorites is lavender. Though I am usually a “white flowers only” girl, for some reason, the soft purple color and of course, that fragrance, really speak to me in the Spring. Also, it is drought tolerant so it grows really well here, even in the heat of summer. But I love it inside as well; it’s adorable in pots around the house (it looks especially good in galvanized buckets) and looks amazing on a kitchen counter!
Since spring isn’t quite like Christmas, with access to so many decor items, I tend to keep it pretty simple. I adore white flowers, and I try to have them as a focal point. I especially love the crisp green of the leaves mixed with the bright white flowers.
