If you’ve been a follower or subscriber of mine for any length of time, then I’m sure you know I’m a long time fan of designer Brooke Giannetti. I’ve featured her designs in the pages of Maison de Cinq many times, and I was an early reader of her popular blog, Velvet & Linen. During the time, I followed the building of her dream home, Patina Farm, lapping up each post detailing the process. Hers was one of the first blogs I ever followed, and to say she’s been an inspiration is an understatement. She is probably the single biggest influence on my style, and definitely hands down my favorite designer.
Hi there and happy Friday friends! Today brings us another French Country Fridays, where myself and six other bloggers are sharing our ideas, decor, tips and even DIYs in French-ish style!
This past week was my kids’ spring break, so not a whole lot of blogging got done! However, I am in the process of re-styling my dining room and I blogged about my ideas for a new dining table if you missed it. I’ll be sharing some changes in the breakfast room area soon, as well as (finally!) new drapes for the downstairs! It feels so good to finally be doing some of the things that have been on the to-do list for years!
Are you all getting excited for summer? I know I definitely am! Lately I’ve been trying to clean up and refresh our outdoor space in the backyard. Spring gets me so excited to have bar-b-ques, swim parties, and revel in the freedom that summer seems to bring. In the spirit of that, our blogging group is talking “outdoor spaces” in our monthly blog hop this month!

Have any of you been planning on refreshing or re-doing your plants this spring? I don’t know about you, but around this time of year I get so inspired to do a “backyard refresh!” Did you know that one of the easiest and least expensive ways to refresh any outdoor area is to plant some beautiful annuals or perennials? For us, the area we use most is our backyard patio. Not only do we entertain our guests there, we spend time swimming and enjoying that area frequently so I really wanted to add some colorful details to brighten the space!
