Trends in home design come and go, and sometimes come again! Brass seems to be one of those things. I remember when we first moved into our house and there were several brass light fixtures and they looked sooo “80’s”, and so, of course, they had to go! Door handles in the last decade looked better if they were chrome or oil-rubbed bronze, not dated brass. Oh, how things have changed!
Hi all! Another week (boy they fly by don’t they?!) and another Sundays at Home party. But before we get into that, I wanted to share something I’m thankful for this week.
As many of you know, two weeks ago I fell down my stairs, breaking two vertebrae in the process. What I haven’t shared is how thankful I am for all the kindness my blogging and Instagram friends have shown me. From the moment that I told a few friends, they helped. They sent messages, emails, texts, flowers and meals. Yes, meals! Many of these friends are from other states, and they were kind and thoughtful enough to arrange meals being delivered through a service. As I shared on Instagram last week, I am so incredibly thankful for all the love and support I’ve received. This blogging community is truly amazing, and I am forever grateful to have become a part of it. This post is for them. I’ve heard you, and I’ve seen you. And I am forever touched by your kindness.
Antique Demijohns and How to Find Them
Welcome to another week of Sundays at Home! It’s been a very “pink” week here at Maison de Cinq. This week I shared my simple Valentine’s decorating, as well as lots of pink flowers over on Instagram. All the pink is really speaking to me right now! Also, next week I’ll be sharing an amazing giveaway that I think you’ll love so be sure to check back! In the meantime, here is my Sunday quote for this week…
Welcome to my second week hosting the Sundays at Home Link Party. It’s typical when bloggers host these parties that they do a little recap of their week, or talk about what they’ve posted.
However, I heard from a reader last week and she asked me about the Sunday posts I used to do, Thoughtful Sundays. For the first couple of years I had the blog, I posted an inspiring quote on Sundays – just a short little post with something to think about that was inspiring, uplifting, or thought-provoking.
Each year I usually touch on what is purported to be the “Color of the Year” as seen by Pantone. And this year that color is violet. I have to admit, purple of any shade is not something I’ve decorated with since I had a room that color when I was ten!
