Do you watch the Oscars? I must confess I’m a die-hard fan. I’ve been watching it every year as long as I can remember. The whole show is something I look forward to every year, but I especially love what my husband calls the “pre-game show,” otherwise known as the Red Carpet!
I know there are people who don’t even watch the Oscars but I just love them. To begin with, I’m a huge movie fan. I love listening to the speeches, seeing clips from all the movies, and even the lifetime achievement awards usually bring me to tears. But when you combine that with the glamour of the red carpet, well, it makes for a pretty perfect night of TV watching for me! I call the Oscars “My Super Bowl!”
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am very into the Oscars. My husband refers to it as “Mommy’s Super Bowl,” which I would say is fairly accurate!
I literally look forward to it all year. I love everything about it; the speeches, the excitement, the honorary awards, and of course, the fashion! The Oscars red carpet is one of my favorite parts of the night!
Considering how much I look forward to the Oscars every year, you would think I would have taken the time to post about the show before now! Anyway, better late than never, right? Somehow life got in the way, but I apologize, and am here to make amends! It’s time for my Oscars Red Carpet Review!
It is possibly my favorite time of year (besides Christmas)….. awards season! I love all the awards shows, from the Golden Globes to the SAG awards, but let’s face it, there’s nothing like the Oscar Awards! They are the Cadillac of the awards shows; the one every other one aspires to be. For the last ten years, we have gotten together with the same couple and I look forward to it every year. We have cocktails and appetizers (of course!), and we spend a lot of time critiquing dresses and speeches. But the funnest part is the ballot thing. I admit, I am very into it. Starting about a week before the show, we spend time explaining to my kids that there is no talking (like the movies) and try to emphasize that “this is mommy’s Super Bowl.” Haha! I told you I was into it;)
