As I’m sure some of you know, my backyard has been in the midst of a remodel for almost the entire past year. We spent last summer remodeling the pool, and then most of the fall finishing the landscaping. And though I haven’t revealed the entire project yet, today I’m sharing one of the newest additions – my new outdoor chandeliers!
As I’m sure some of you know by now, we have been in the middle of a pool and backyard renovation for the last couple of weeks (you can see some of the progress in my Instagram stories). I’ve had quite a lot of interest and various questions about what I’m doing, and how we decided on our choices, so I thought today it would be fun to share with you my design process for the renovation. I’m going to show you the outdoor spaces that were inspiring me, my mood board, and also share with you how I changed it all halfway through, lol!

A few weeks ago I got an email inviting me (along with several other bloggers) on a private tour of the HGTV® Dream Home 2018 in Gig Harbor, Washington. And let me tell you, that was an email I did not ignore! I had to actually read it twice before I could even believe it was real! I am so honored to have been chosen and given this amazing opportunity. This is the kind of thing every blogger dreams of, and it was truly a dream experience!
Are you all getting excited for summer? I know I definitely am! Lately I’ve been trying to clean up and refresh our outdoor space in the backyard. Spring gets me so excited to have bar-b-ques, swim parties, and revel in the freedom that summer seems to bring. In the spirit of that, our blogging group is talking “outdoor spaces” in our monthly blog hop this month!

Have any of you been planning on refreshing or re-doing your plants this spring? I don’t know about you, but around this time of year I get so inspired to do a “backyard refresh!” Did you know that one of the easiest and least expensive ways to refresh any outdoor area is to plant some beautiful annuals or perennials? For us, the area we use most is our backyard patio. Not only do we entertain our guests there, we spend time swimming and enjoying that area frequently so I really wanted to add some colorful details to brighten the space!
