Hello everyone and welcome to the summer edition of the Styled + Set Entertaining Blog Hop! I’m thrilled to again be joining an amazing group of 21 bloggers, hosted by Lory of Designthusiasm. This season, we are all sharing how we entertain for the summer! Today I’m sharing a simple summer tablescape in blue and white. This tablescape is one of the twelve seasonal tables featured in my free e-book!
Spring and summer fashion is so fun! Breezy tops, flirty sundresses, sandals (with bright pedicures!), cropped jeans, cut-offs, and straw bags. I love a good straw bag! Is there any bag that screams summer more than this one?!
Larger ones are great as totes to the beach or on vacation, but a small or medium sized one makes a great handbag for when the weather heats up. Made from raffia or straw, they are lightweight and can hold a ton. In fact, the straw bag originated in France. Women would take large woven straw bags to the farmer’s markets to load up with fresh fruits and vegetables. Leave it to the French to make even going to the market fashionable!
Happy “Almost Summer” everyone! Are you getting as excited as I am for some warmer weather and the relaxation that summer brings? I love all the seasons, but there is just something about the carefree, lazy days of summer that I adore. It’s almost as if we all take a collected sigh of relief, and the whole world feels just a little bit lighter. And that’s the vibe I’m going for with my Summer Home Tour this year – lighter, brighter, and relaxing!
Is there anything easier than wearing a summer sundress?! Nothing compares to a one-piece outfit for simplicity and comfort. With a sundress you can slip it on, add a pair of cute sandals, maybe a bracelet or two, and you’re done!
I’m particularly fond of white dresses for summer, in fact, I love them so much I’ve written about them twice! However, easy, flowy dresses in colorful hues or floral prints also scream summer.
Are you all getting excited for summer? I know I definitely am! Lately I’ve been trying to clean up and refresh our outdoor space in the backyard. Spring gets me so excited to have bar-b-ques, swim parties, and revel in the freedom that summer seems to bring. In the spirit of that, our blogging group is talking “outdoor spaces” in our monthly blog hop this month!
Awhile back I shared how I had fallen in love with gingham. And now this spring, I’m seeing it talked about as a returning trend. And can I say, I could not be happier! It’s so crisp and fresh looking, and it really screams spring to me. What’s fresher than white jeans and a gingham top? Or a sweet little gingham dress?
