Hi everyone! Today is a very special Thursday as it is the first day of Early Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! That means if you are a Nordstrom card holder, you can shop the sale today, 8 days before the general public! So if you are not already a cardholder, I highly recommend you become one (click here to apply)! Not only do you get access to this amazing sale-of-all-sales well before the public, but you also earn points for every dollar spent! However, if you don’t want another credit card, have no fear, you can peruse my list here and make some notes on items you like, and shop on July 20th when the sale goes public!
Happy Thursday friends, and not just any Thursday! Today is the first day of Early Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! That means if you are a Nordstrom card holder, you can shop the sale today, 8 days before the general public!
Normally I’m not a huge sale person when it comes to fashion. I don’t line up for warehouse sales, or run to the Zara sale when it comes (even though I adore that store). But the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is truly a one-of-a-kind event. This sale is the only sale I’ve heard of that marks down things that are new! That’s right, brand-new-for-fall items at super-sale prices! You don’t have to wait to get that item you love, so that by the time it finally goes on sale, the season is almost over. You can buy your new fall items, at a discount, and wear them first thing in the fall!! How great is that?!

A fisherman’s sweater is a Fall favorite for me. Traditionally, these sweaters had complex cable knit patterns and they were made out of scratchy wool so that the Irish fishermen who wore them stayed warm even when they got wet from sea spray. Of course, today they are made out of softer wools, usually merino, and they come in more colors and different styles, such as turtlenecks or cardigans, but the practicality remains. The winter white color, the classic style, and the coziness factor just speak to me!
I thought I would start out today talking about wardrobe “investment pieces.” Many of you have heard the term before but don’t really know what it means or how to apply it to your closets. I’ve also had a lot of friends ask me, “How do I know what to spend on and what not to? And what if things go out of style?” Well, I’m here to (try to) clarify all of that for you!
