Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and that you got the chance to relax and recharge – at least a little!
After the absolute craziness of the season I like to sit back and take a look at the year as a whole. Not just the ups and downs of my personal life, though I do that too, but it’s also fun to take a look at Maison de Cinq. What post did the best? And what resonated with you, my readers, the most? And today, I’m joining some blogging friends who are also sharing their top posts of the year.
Sometimes it’s obvious what will be the number one post of the year (ie; the holiday posts always do well!), but other times, it’s a surprise even to me! For instance, my “Number One” post in 2016 was actually a post from the year before, and it was number one two years in a row!
So without further ado, here are my Top Ten Posts of 2018! If you are new here or a recent subscriber, this is a great chance for you to see some of the posts you might have missed! You can get to any of the full posts by clicking on the title!
Top Ten Posts of 2018!
10. How to Style Book Shelves and My Re-Styled Built-Ins
This was a super fun post for me, as I had been wanting to re-style the built-ins in my family room for some time. I wanted to simplify and create a cleaner aesthetic, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
9. Breakfast Area Refresh and My New Antique Farmhouse Table
Last spring I finally got to replace my dated table and chairs that I had had in the kitchen breakfast area for over a decade! The new table completely changed the space!
8. Garden Party Spring Tablescape
Of all the tables I did this year, this was the one that made the cut! Not only was it your favorite, but it was mine as well!
7. My French-Inspired Home Office Makeover – the One Room Challenge Reveal!
This was my first time doing the One Room Challenge, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was super nervous about making the deadlines and having a room completely done in six weeks, but it turned out to be great for this serial procrastinator!
6. Summer Home Tour in Cool Shades of Blue
I added lots of blue and white for this summer tour, and I must confess, I’m hooked! Nothing seems more refreshing or more indicative of summer than this classic combo!
5. Antique French Olive Jars and How to Get the Look
One of my personal favorites was this post all about my discovery of French olive jars! I shared my new-found passion for them, and lots of ways to get the look – affordably!
4. The Best “Restoration Hardware” Style Dining Tables – for Less!
I had been dreaming of a Restoration Hardware style table for my dining room, but I definitely didn’t want to pay the high price tag! So I went on a quest to find the same look for less. Seems you want to find them, too!
3. Fall Mantel in Shades of Burnished Copper
I must confess that this mantel is probably my favorite I’ve ever done! Pumpkins, eucalyptus, and copper accents created the perfect look for fall.
2. Soft & Romantic Christmas Kitchen Tour
As has been the case the last couple of years, my holiday tours tend to fill the top spaces and this year is no exception! The number two spot belongs to my first Christmas tour of 2018, my kitchen.
1. French-Inspired Romantic Christmas Living Room Tour
And the most popular post of the year is, not surprisingly, another holiday home tour! This time it was my living room tour and it was my favorite of the season, too! I had a frosted tree for the first time ever, and I decorated in shades of blush and white which was also a first for me. I’m not sure if it was the soft colors, but for whatever reason this was my top read post of the year!
And in taking stock of all that has happened this year, I want to say thank you to all of you! The blog has grown tremendously this year, and I know that could never happen without all of you. We live in a busy world, with so many things vying for our time, so you taking the time to read the blog, and to comment, means so very much to me! Home, and all that that encompasses, is my passion. And the fact that I get to share that with like-minded people is truly a dream come true. So thank you for reading, commenting, and emailing. It truly means the world to me!
I’m looking forward to 2019 and I hope to grow the blog and my business even more. And I hope you’ll continue to follow along on this journey with me….
Happy New Year!
