I don’t know about all of you, but my husband and I definitely don’t do a big Valentine’s Day anymore. Gone are the years where a dozen roses appeared and a fancy dinner was had. And I’m fine with it. I actually love that we just do cards or small gifts, and sometimes a nice dinner at home.
But one thing that has become big, is celebrating a “Galentine’s Day” instead! A day (or night) where you get together with your girlfriend’s for lunch, a game night, or just a glass of wine. I don’t know when this started, but I’m guessing it came about when women noticed their guys weren’t really doing much for the day anyway. Or they didn’t have a guy, so they thought, why don’t we just treat ourselves??! And I think it’s an awesome idea! And even if you do celebrate with your husband, it’s still kind of sweet to get a little something for your best friend, your mom, or your sister.
After all, Valentine’s Day is about love, and I don’t think it has to be limited to romantic love. I love my girlfriends and they are a huge part of my life, so it’s nice to share an evening together, or just show them I love them. I’ve always gotten gifts for my kids every year, so honoring friends just feels like a natural extension of that. And then of course, there is always treating yourself (never a bad idea!) With that in mind, I’ve compiled the Ultimate Galentine’s Day Gift Guide. There are perfect options for friends, sisters, daughters… or yourself!
The Ultimate GALentine’s Day Gift Guide
1. These French-made favorites fall between the sweet spot of treating yourself and low maintenance (that’s already the essence of French women, don’t you think?) Each scent can be worn alone or layered to create your own unique blend.
2. I love the organic style of the calligraphy on this heart catchall. Such a perfect small gift, and it’s even on sale!
3. Super soft stretch jersey pajamas from my favorite brand, PJ Salvage! These feel amazingly soft against your skin.
4. How adorable is this Valentine’s wine decanter and glasses set?! There’s also a less expensive version that contains long-stemmed glasses with playful sayings.
5. I’m loving this delicate L-O-V-E lariat necklace (I’m thinking this may just be my gift to myself this year!)
6. Love this fun iPhone case from Kate Spade. Would make a great small gift for a daughter or a friend.
7. A floral arrangement that evokes V-day but isn’t the typical dozen roses?! Yes, please, to this gorgeous mix of fresh tulips!
8. A cute addition to any office or work space, this hour glass has blush colored sand!
9. What’s a gift guide without some fun socks?! These are especially cute – and French!
10. If you’ve never tried any of the Sugar Lip Therapies, now is the time! Boosts volume while providing hydration in a sheer pink hue.
11. I love pink sandals, especially as spring approaches. These would be as great with a white dress as they would with jeans and a top.
12. Could there be a cuter doormat? I love that it is fun, but also makes a statement about what home really means.

Seriously, why do men struggle when there’s so many great gift ideas?
